How much does a website cost in Ireland?

Real 2026 price ranges for a small business website in Ireland, what you get at each level, and the running costs nobody mentions up front.

The short answer

For a small business in Ireland in 2026, expect to pay roughly:

What you need Typical price in Ireland
A starter website from a template €495 to €1,200
A small business website built for you €700 to €2,500
A semi-custom or custom website €1,200 to €5,000 and up
An online shop From about €1,000 to €2,000, rising with the number of products

Then there are running costs: a domain, hosting, and usually a monthly plan to keep the site updated. More on those below.

Those ranges come from Irish web designers' own published prices (sources at the end). The spread is wide because "a website" can mean a one-page card or a full system that takes bookings and payments.

What you get at each level

Starter websites (around €500 to €1,200)

A template with your logo, colours and text dropped in. Fine for getting online, but the same layout as many other businesses, and often light on the things that bring in calls: a page for each service, the towns you cover, reviews in the right places.

Small business websites (around €700 to €2,500)

This is where most trades and local businesses should be. A site designed around your business, with a page for each service, your service areas, your reviews and photos, a quote form and your phone number on every page, set up so Google understands where you work.

My simple website sits here: from €799, up to 5 pages, live in 5 to 7 days.

Professional and custom websites (around €1,200 to €5,000 and up)

Everything above, plus features built around how your business runs: your own admin area to change content yourself, an enquiries inbox, location pages, online booking, an instant quote calculator or a client login area.

My professional website starts at €1,499, with features from the add-ons list on top.

Online shops (from around €1,000 to €2,000)

Selling online means products, stock, payments, delivery and VAT handled properly, so shops are priced on how many products you sell and how you take payment and deliver. Irish designers start at around €1,000 to €2,000 and go up from there. If you only sell a few products or gift vouchers, a shop added to a normal website can cost far less.

The add-ons that change the price

Irish web designers typically charge, on top of the base website:

Add-on Typical price in Ireland
Copywriting (the text written for you) €50 to €150 a page, or €500 to €2,000 a project
Online booking system €300 to €800
Online shop added to a website €300 to €2,000
Customer login area €500 to €1,500
Each extra language €400 to €1,200
Logo and branding €500 to €2,000

You can see my add-on prices on the pricing page. They're at the lower end of these ranges.

The running costs

A website has costs after it goes live. Ask about these before you sign anything:

  • Domain name: about €15 to €50 a year for your .ie or .com.
  • Hosting: from about €100 a year for basic shared hosting to €300 to €600 a year for managed hosting.
  • Maintenance or care plan: usually €50 to €150 a month for updates, backups, security and small changes.
  • SEO: ongoing SEO work from Irish agencies ranges from about €195 to €2,000 a month and up.

My website care is €50 a month and includes hosting. Monthly SEO is €200.

Five questions to ask any web designer

  1. Is the price fixed, and what exactly does it include? Pages, text, photos, the contact form, setting up Google.
  2. Who writes the text? If it's you, budget the time. If it's them, check it's included.
  3. What does it cost every month after launch, and what do I get for it?
  4. Can I change things myself, or do I pay every time?
  5. Who owns the website and the domain if we part ways?

A clear answer to all five is a good sign. A vague one usually means extra costs later.

So what should you budget?

For most trades and local service businesses: €800 to €2,500 for the website, plus €50 to €100 a month to keep it running. Spend more if you want features that save you time or win jobs, like instant quotes or online booking. Those can pay for themselves.
